Court Appointed Special Advocates
Zeta Theta is lucky to have a local CASA chapter here in San Luis Obispo, and to be able to see our funds make a direct impact on our community. Court Appointed Special Advocates is a national, nonprofit organization that recruits and trains volunteers (court-appointed advocates) to serve as a voice for neglected and abused children who are navigating the court system. In SLO County, there are 500-600 children in the foster care system, and around 180 active CASAs. It costs roughly $3000 to train one CASA, so every dollar Theta raises makes a difference.
